Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is a painful condition of the hand whereby the nerve that travels through the flexor tendons of the fingers creates numbness and an unpleasant, abnormal sense of touch. Common positions of the hand, like holding a cell phone or a book is painful and may even aggravate your symptoms. Atrophy may also be present.
Treatments may include night splinting, injections and in many cases a simple surgery to release the carpal tunnel.
