We are all going through uncertain times--coronavirus and all of the "adapting" we must do to survive, overreporting of the news, racial tension in certain areas of the country. It can lead to much anxiety. We've even been talking about it ourselves at the OEP practice. What we all agreed upon is that "mindfulness" during these challenging times is necessary for a healthy mind, body and soul. So, what is mindfulness?
Here's how we define it:
Looking after yourself. Get your rest/sleep, have fun and practices self-love.
Discovering. More about yourself and the world around you.
Non-judgement. Be kind and thoughtful of others. Treat those around you the way you want to be treated.
Meditation.Take a moment to just breathe. Take note of your thoughts, body, mind and breathe through any negativity.
Practicing mindfulness helps you be more intentional about everything you do. And, it's incredibly healthy. But, don't take our word for it, try it yourself and see.
